About Shellbell

Hi, I’m Bilal.

Shellbell is my solo project.

I’m Bilal, a mobile and AI architect. I spend my off-hours building free apps for non-profits and my community.

Shellbell comes from something I wanted for myself: a way to step away from a running terminal without losing the ability to see what’s happening or answer when I’m needed.

A coding agent waiting for a reply. A build finishing while I’m elsewhere. A command I want to check without going back to the desk. A small window into the same session is often all I need.

I build projects I’m interested in using myself and feel others could benefit from as well. If Shellbell helps you reclaim a little time away from a screen, it’s doing its job.

No ads. No paywalls. No data mining.
Just projects I’m interested in using myself
and feel others could benefit from as well.

A project,
made to be shared.

Shellbell is free and open source. Read the code, report something that could be better, or contribute a change. The project is maintained by me, with room for thoughtful contributions from others.

Say hello.

Feedback, ideas, and thoughtful connections are welcome. If you’re working on a cause you believe in, tell me about it. I may be able to help pro bono when the project and my time line up.
